Subject: Blocking Obama?
Dear MoveOn member,
To save our economy, President Obama's stimulus plan needs bipartisan support in the Senate. Our new TV ad urges the few swing-vote Republican senators to join Obama. Can you chip in $35? Click Here
Arrgh! We're facing the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. President Obama crafted a bold plan to invest in green jobs, health care, clean energy, and education.1
And what did the Republicans do? In this week's House vote, every single one of them voted no.2 They're holding out for ... wait for it ... more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy.3
When the Senate votes next week, if every Republican opposes Obama's plan, it probably won't pass. And then we're really in trouble—a bad recession could well become a depression.
Our new ad calls on swing-vote senators to get behind Obama's plan to rebuild the economy. Can you pitch in $35 to run the ad?

America has lost more than 100,000 jobs this week alone.4 We need help now.
But instead of rolling up their sleeves and trying to help, the Republicans are closing ranks and standing in the way.
President Obama is doing all he can to bring fair-minded Republicans along. He's cast a wide net for the best ideas, kept in close contact with people from both sides of the aisle, and made several trips specifically to meet with the Republicans in the House and Senate and hear their concerns.
The senators we're targeting with this ad are our best hope. If they realize that their constituents—a good many of whom voted for Barack Obama—are going to blame them if they don't support real change now, they may well come around.
But they need to hear the message loudly, and quickly. Can you chip in $35 to get this ad in front of these senators' constituents? Donate here:
